ESTABLISHED
The East Texas Hawg Hunters Bass Club was established from 1995-1997 by a group of dedicated anglers that saw the importance of sharing their love and passion for the sport of Bass Fishing! With the help of Don and Phillip Mattern, Glen Mattern created this organization with hopes of providing a competitive fishing atmosphere as well an opportunity to learn more about the sport they loved. This club was a part of the BASS Federation and its members were able to fish against some of the best anglers in the state of Texas. All three brothers went on to be Bass Guides on such lakes as Lake Palestine, Richland Chambers, and Sam Rayburn.
On September 2, 2002 Glen Mattern lost his battle with cancer.
In Loving Memory of Glen, we have decided to reestablish the club he cared so dearly for...The East Texas Hawg Hunters Bass Club!
